About Majeste
Majeste sells private tours of Sri Lanka, with the full price shown before you book and your driver paid in cash when the trip starts.

What you can check before you book
We sell private round tours of Sri Lanka, trips you build yourself and day tours, most of them in your own car with an English-speaking driver. These are the things you can hold us to:
- The full price of every trip, line by line, before you book. Nothing is paid online.
- When the booking includes our vehicle, your driver's name and vehicle plate come by 20:00 the evening before the trip, or within 30 minutes of a later booking. Otherwise your pickup details, or where to meet and who to pay, come on the same timing.
- You pay in cash when the trip starts: to your driver when the booking includes our vehicle, otherwise to the person we name with the meeting point.
- Plans change? Cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup.
- No elephant rides, no chained-elephant sessions, no swimming with whales and no turtle-tank hatcheries. See why.
- Replies within 30 minutes, 07:00 to 21:00 Sri Lanka time. On WhatsApp at +94 76 409 2662.
There are no reviews on this site yet: they will appear only when real guests have written them. Our sister brand, safa.lk, sells private jeep safaris in Sri Lanka's national parks.

What we will not sell
Some common tours in Sri Lanka harm animals or break the law. We leave them out, and we say why.
Elephant rides
Why not: ABTA's animal welfare guidelines class tourist contact with elephants without a barrier as unacceptable. We found no law against riding in Sri Lanka. Our reason is the animals' welfare.
Instead: Wild elephants from a jeep: Minneriya or Kaudulla and Udawalawe.
Bathing, feeding or photo sessions with chained elephants
Why not: The same guidelines cover feeding and contact without a barrier, and shows.
Instead: The Elephant Transit Home at Udawalawe, for orphaned calves being prepared for release. It is viewing only.
Swimming, snorkelling or diving with whales or dolphins
Why not: It is prohibited by law in Sri Lanka, and Sri Lanka's 2026 whale-watching criteria list it as strictly prohibited.
Instead: Boat trips from Mirissa and Trincomalee. Whales are seen on some trips, not all.
Turtle hatcheries that keep hatchlings in tanks or let you handle them
Why not: Hatchlings kept in tanks for weeks, handled by visitors or released by day are put at risk. Many hatcheries are tourist businesses of doubtful conservation value.
Instead: The nesting watch at Rekawa beach, run by the Turtle Conservation Project. You watch wild turtles at night. Sightings are not guaranteed.
On request only
Sold, but apart from everything above: we add these to a trip only when you ask, with this warning.
- Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. A captive herd with chained animals and scheduled shows. We include it only if you ask. It is in none of our tours or day tours. To see orphaned calves being prepared for release, go to the Elephant Transit Home at Udawalawe, which is viewing only.
How we keep facts current
Prices on this site are worked out from one set of data files. Each fee and rate records where it came from and the date we read it. That date is printed next to the figure, so you can judge how fresh it is.
| What | Last checked |
|---|---|
| Entrance fees | 7 November 2026 |
| Hotel rates | 7 November 2026 |
| Vehicle rates | 7 November 2026 |
| Activity prices | 7 November 2026 |
| Exchange rate (LKR 332.5 to USD 1, XE mid-market rate) | 6 November 2026 |
Where sources disagree, or only one list gives a figure, we say so beside it on the prices page. Where a figure is our estimate, the receipt says so. Sri Lanka changes fees often. If you find one that is out of date, please tell us.
