Majeste

Booking terms

These are the terms for booking a private tour with Majeste. Your trip is booked when you press Book. You pay in cash when the trip starts: to your driver when the booking includes our vehicle, otherwise to the person we name with the meeting point.

Plain-English terms

These terms say how we work today, in plain words. If anything is unclear, ask us on WhatsApp before you book.

In short

Booked when you press Book

The trip is booked the moment you press Book, under a reference you keep.

You pay when the trip starts

In cash, to your driver at pickup, or to the person we name when no vehicle of ours is in the booking. We never ask for card details.

Free to cancel

Plans change? Cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup.

Hotels are "or similar"

Hotels are named as examples of the standard you will get. If a named hotel is full we book one of the same standard in the same area and tell you which.

Sightings are not guaranteed

Leopards are seen on some drives, not all. Whales are seen on some trips, not all.

1. Who we are

Majeste is a trading name of Senific (Private) Limited, company no. PV 00355973, Sri Lanka. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company. "You" means the person who books, for everyone travelling with them.

Reach us on WhatsApp at +94 76 409 2662, 07:00 to 21:00 Sri Lanka time, or by email at hello@majeste.lk.

2. What we arrange

We arrange tours of Sri Lanka: round tours, day tours, activities, transfers and trips you build yourself. Your own vehicle and English-speaking driver, for your party only, whenever the price includes our vehicle. Where a jeep, a boat or an operator's vehicle takes its place, the tour page and your receipt say which, and whether it is shared. Hotels, parks, trains and activities are run by other businesses and public bodies. We book them for you.

3. The Majeste standard

Every booking comes with these commitments.

  • Your own vehicle and English-speaking driver, for your party only, whenever the price includes our vehicle. Where a jeep, a boat or an operator's vehicle takes its place, the tour page and your receipt say which, and whether it is shared.
  • The price we show is the price, with every line listed. Anything paid there is named on the receipt.
  • Once you book, your trip is secured and we run it.
  • When the booking includes our vehicle, your driver's name and vehicle plate come by 20:00 the evening before the trip, or within 30 minutes of a later booking. Otherwise your pickup details, or where to meet and who to pay, come on the same timing.
  • Replies within 30 minutes, 07:00 to 21:00 Sri Lanka time.
  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup.

4. Your booking

  • Every trip with a price on this site is booked when you press Book: the form books it at the price shown, under a reference, and shows you a page with everything on it.
  • Once you book, your trip is secured and we run it. On a multi-day trip we then book the hotels, train seats and activities on your plan.
  • A date is required to book. Without a date you can still see prices.
  • When you press Book we work the price out again and compare it with what you saw. If a rate changes while you are booking, nothing is booked and you see the new price first. Once you book, your booking keeps its price.
  • A large group we price by hand stays a request, and the price comes on WhatsApp. Nothing booked until you accept the price.
  • Booking closes at 21:00 Sri Lanka time the evening before pickup. After that the website stops taking bookings, so ask on WhatsApp.
  • We reply within 30 minutes, 07:00 to 21:00 Sri Lanka time. When the booking includes our vehicle, your driver's name and vehicle plate come by 20:00 the evening before the trip, or within 30 minutes of a later booking. Otherwise your pickup details, or where to meet and who to pay, come on the same timing.

5. How you pay

Your trip is booked when you press Book. You pay in cash when the trip starts: to your driver when the booking includes our vehicle, otherwise to the person we name with the meeting point. Nothing is paid online or in advance. We do not ask for card details on this site, on WhatsApp or by phone.

Some bookings have no vehicle of ours in them, such as an activity on its own that lists no transport. You make your own way there, and you pay in cash when it starts, to the person we name when we send you the meeting point.

Prices are in US dollars. Rupee amounts shown beside them are approximate, and we confirm the exact rupee amount for you to bring.

6. The price

  • Prices are in US dollars. Your receipt lists each line, with its total and the price per person.
  • The price is the total on your booking, and we do not change it after you book unless you change the trip.
  • On multi-day trips the price includes our Trip planning and support fee: 8% of the vehicle and hotels, shown as its own line. Tickets and activities carry no fee, except the hill train seat, which includes our booking charge. Day tours have no such line.
  • Prices on this site use the rates and fees we last checked: entrance fees 7 Nov 2026, hotels 7 Nov 2026, transport 7 Nov 2026, activities 7 Nov 2026. Hotels, parks and the exchange rate can change them before you book.
  • Fees set in rupees are converted at LKR 332.5 to USD 1 (XE mid-market rate, 6 Nov 2026).
  • When your hotel nights include 24 or 31 December, we add a gala dinner line, marked as an estimate.

7. What is included

Your receipt lists what your trip includes. In general it covers:

  • A private vehicle with an English-speaking driver, unless your receipt says otherwise: it says when transport is not included, and when a jeep, a boat or an operator's vehicle takes its place.
  • Fuel, tolls, parking, and the driver's meals and lodging.
  • Hotels, with taxes and service charges. Bed and breakfast unless the itinerary says otherwise.
  • The entrance tickets listed on your itinerary, at the fee we last found, with its source on your receipt.
  • The activities listed on your receipt.
  • On multi-day trips, Trip planning and support.

It does not cover:

  • Flights.
  • Your visa.
  • Travel insurance.
  • Lunches and dinners, unless you add half board.
  • Drinks, snacks and personal spending.
  • Tips, which are at your discretion.
  • Optional extras you have not added.

Your driver drives and handles tickets and logistics. They are not a guide.

8. Cancelling

  • Plans change? Cancel free up to 24 hours before pickup. The same rule covers every booking.
  • Inside 24 hours, tell us at once: your driver has held those days for you and turned other work away.
  • If we cannot reach you on the day and you do not arrive, the booking lapses.

The full rule is on the cancellation page.

9. Changes

If you want to change your plan, message us with your reference. A change can change the price, so we price it again before you agree to it. If we have to change something, we tell you as soon as we can. See what happens if we have to change something.

10. Hotels "or similar"

Hotels are named as examples of the standard you will get. If a named hotel is full we book one of the same standard in the same area and tell you which.

Bed and breakfast unless the itinerary says otherwise.

Children under 6 stay free sharing their parents' bed. Children 6 to 11 sharing a room pay a small supplement. From 12, hotels count a child as an adult.

11. Activities and sightings

Activities and sightings are not guaranteed. Leopards are seen on some drives, not all. Whales are seen on some trips, not all. Parks can close, trains can sell out and the weather can stop an activity. No train class or window seat is promised.

12. What we are responsible for

  • We answer for what we do ourselves: the booking, the driver and vehicle we assign, what we arrange for you, and the information on this site.
  • Hotels, activity operators, parks and the railway run their own services, under their own rules.
  • Parks, wildlife and the weather are outside anyone's control. We promise no sighting, and we are not liable for a closed park, a queue at the gate or an activity cut short by the weather. Section 9 says what happens to your booking then.
  • Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not let us limit.

13. Your responsibilities

  • Carry a valid passport. SAARC ticket prices need the original passport at the gate.
  • Get your own visa or ETA before you arrive. See our visa and ETA guide.
  • Arrange your own travel insurance, covering medical treatment, evacuation, repatriation and the activities you plan. We do not provide insurance for guests.
  • Tell us the children's ages at the time of travel, and any need that affects the plan.
  • Be at the pickup point on time, and keep your phone on so we can reach you.
  • Follow the rules of parks, temples and activity operators.

14. Travel protection

We do not hold a bond, a trust account or membership of a protection scheme such as ATOL or ABTA. So no such scheme covers your trip. Until your trip starts you have paid us nothing. Once you pay, no scheme stands behind that payment.

15. Sri Lankan law

Your contract is with Senific (Private) Limited, a company registered in Sri Lanka. These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka hear any dispute. Your home country's consumer law may give you rights that cannot be signed away. Nothing here takes those rights away.

16. Which terms apply

When these terms change, the new version is published here with its date. The terms that apply to your trip are the ones published when you booked it.

Last updated . If these terms change, we update this page and this date.
