About this tour

Nuwara Eliya is the usual base for Horton Plains: about an hour to the Pattipola gate, then the 9 km loop to Mini World's End, World's End and Baker's Falls. Leave at 05:00 to be on the trail at first light, because cloud usually closes over the drop by 09:00 or 10:00. It is cold at dawn, and can be near 5 °C in January and February. Park tickets are included.

  • World's End, a drop of about 870 metres, in the clear early light
  • Baker's Falls and the cloud forest on the loop
  • Sambar deer at the car park; park tickets included
