Yala full-day safari (private jeep)

What happens

In the park from opening to closing, with a packed lunch eaten at a designated spot. A full day gives more time to look for a leopard, but it is long, hot and bumpy, and the middle of the day is quiet. Suited to people who want wildlife above comfort.

Limits

• Up to 6 people in one group.
• Tracks are bumpy. Not advised in late pregnancy or with back problems.
• Open-sided jeep: bring a hat, sunscreen and a light layer for the early start.
• Twelve hours in a jeep. Not recommended for young children.
